Review on Woodworking Sharpening Polishing Stropping by BeaverCraft: Effective Tool for Optimum Results by Jim Reinhardt

If you like sharp knives, just get a leather belt.

This is the only leather sling I have ever used and I am amazed at the difference in the sharpness of my knives as well as the improved edge retention I have experienced after using this sling in the final step of sharpening. I like the length of this sling as it allows you to smoothly coat long knives in one pass. I have been using DMT diamond stones for a long time and have previously used an extra fine stone as a final step. I was curious if the sling would make a difference as I figured my knives would be as sharp as possible. The tape polishes the edge for a smoother cut and the edge seems to hold up better with normal use. I'm happy with this belt but can't compare it to others as it's the only one I've used. My top recommendation is to add a sling to the grinding process, whether it's a sling or not.
