Samsung DVD V2500 VCR DVD Combo Review

THE DVD COMBO VCR COMES NO REMOTE CONTROL OR INSTRUCTIONS OR BATTERIES. I HAVE TO SEND IT BACK BECAUSE IT'S NOT WORKING TOO.

Bought to replace a broken block. It arrived quickly and in excellent condition. It was easy to hook up and plays great. They even informed me that the remote control would be sent separately. I would buy from them again anytime. I am happy with my purchase.

I bought this device because of the high purchase price. The VCR stopped working after about a week and was repaired under warranty at a local store in Hawaii. Now, exactly one year after purchase, part of the DVD is broken. Luckily it's still under warranty, but I have to ship it to New Jersey (I currently live in Florida). The unit worked great and it was a good deal at $130 even with two claims under warranty.

Certified and Refurbished? The only thing about it is that it was well packaged and well cleaned. It doesn't matter if IT DON'T WORK! The device turns on but turns off again immediately after the DVD dock (with or without DVD) is closed. I found an instruction manual on the internet and am trying to figure it out, but I'm disappointed!

Thought I'd save on some connectors and components . So here's what happened in less than a year of use (only one VCR played): 1) LOTS of problems with the unit not ejecting DVDs and CDs. It will just sit there and spin. And wait a few hours before trying to figure it out. Sent it back to Samsung and their comment (after I paid S&H) was "Couldn't reproduce the problem". GAHH!2) Poor CD/MP3 playback capabilities. Absolutely NO random/shuffle options. But the selection of MP3 titles on the screen

I bought this model about a year ago and while I was pleased with the unit I didn't think it was a bargain at the time. But now that you can get it for almost $$$ less than when I bought it, I can only recommend it as an extremely good deal. (Although I'm a little offended that I paid that much at the time. This is the first DVD-VCR combo I've ever owned I have and like to use. I like the ability to play CDs and MP3s. There is no fast forward or shuffle function for MP3 tracks. Its performance is quite satisfactory when watching DVDs and VHS tapes. Tape rewind is very fast, if a bit noisy. The unlit remote is crammed with useful controls and is pretty well thought out.
