Review on Smart watch Garmin Instinct, tundra by Gabriela Sujak (Gabr

Revainrating 4 out of 5

I am satisfied, the product fully corresponds to the description.

Since in 2-3 weeks on hikes it happens that the memory is almost completely clogged (sometimes 2-3 megabytes), I had to install firmware version 10.0 myself, where they finally made it possible to delete 1.7 MB of language files from the watch. Almost 30 language files are always in memory - I don't know a single person to whom this would be relevant. If there is any other firmware, then at the first synchronization all deleted files are restored. After removing the excess "garbage", 7.22 MB out of 7.87 MB are free, which is very pleasing. It's just great, in 2022, to count every kilobyte and pray that a new firmware does not arrive (it will lie in the clock, but will not install itself). In the Garmin Explore software, you can pre-load maps of the desired region and track all your routes, you can create new ones and delete old ones, and all this is immediately synchronized with your watch. BUT! The route must not contain more than 50 waypoints or there may be problems. My route for 14 km was displayed, but it gave a warning according to the number of points and after five minutes the clock simply rebooted - although I had not even pressed "Start" yet. The routes themselves do not take up much space in the watch's memory, I got 40 kb for a 14 km journey. I have classes for 8-10 hours - the clock is pulling, without refueling, although they are already a little over a year and a half. And never connect more than one watch to PC when ating. I had the 235th and instincts on charge, I ated the target on the site, after which I clicked "Synchronization" in the Express. Garmin Express ditched the 235's firmware and ated the Instinct parameters. At the same time, the 235s are activated in another account and are not added to this Express - it simply sees them in the system (like a flash drive) and for some reason ates them too. Soft Garmin has always been legendary for glitches.

Pros
  • 1. Support for Garmin Explore software for me, a hiker, it's insanely convenient. 2. The screen without backlight is visible in the slightest light - even the light of the moon is enough. 3. A huge bunch of all kinds of workouts - and you can create your own (in fact, the data is the same everywhere, just the name of the workout and screens change) 4. Drank golf entirely. But it's still on Garmin Connect(.
Cons
  • 1. Memory. Excuse me here, but it's clearly a scam. Declared 16 MB, in fact free 5.34 MB out of 7.87 MB that are visible when connected to a PC. They said 16 MB - so let's say 16 MB, but here, in fact, only 8 MB. I switched to Instinct from Forerunner 235 and there is 11 MB free, and nothing needs to be deleted. 2. ate system. When synchronizing with a phone or PC, a new firmware is uploaded via cable, devouring another 2-2.5 MB of memory, as a result, if you do not constantly clean the memory, you can get into a very unpleasant mess that when ating, the clock will simply hang and you need to do a reset. 3. When practicing "swimming", the pulse is not written. It is not written either in the pool, or in open water, or even when an external strap is connected.
