Review on Smart watch Garmin Instinct, tundra by Edyta Grabowska ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I'm very happy, it really is worth buying.

The most important thing in this watch is the screen. At dusk and during the day, the image is no worse than that of electronic ink. Viewing angles - almost 180 degrees. The disadvantage, perhaps, is in the design - they took the square screen from the Forerunner 35 and placed it in a round case. The optical heart rate monitor, of course, is lying. It is such by nature, or rather the nature of a person is such that pulsations from the heart do not always reach the small capillaries on the wrist, especially "at high speeds." The compass also lies and requires calibration before each use. And even after it mows to the west by 15 degrees. There are no complaints about the pedometer. The barometer itself is quite adequate, but based on its data, the floors are considered incorrect. The thermometer did not check - the temperature on the wrist is of little interest. But you can connect external sensors. The chest Chinese heart rate monitor and an external Garmin Tempe thermometer easily hooked up to the ANT + watch. Only now it will not be possible to see the data from them in the form of graphs on the watch itself. Timer with current time display and vibrating alert. In stopwatch mode, the current time of day is not displayed. I had to create a custom workout called Stopwatch. I liked the astronomical widgets - moon phases and civil twilight start/end time. Limited set of watch faces. And you can't upload any of your own. And from what is, it is difficult to choose - some are aesthetic, but completely uninformative, others are vice versa. As a navigator, the watch is only good for recording a track, but it does it well. Even in pure GPS mode. With a standard jelly strap, the watch looks like a child's toy. I recommend looking for something more decent, for example, those designed for a Phoenix with a QuickFit system or Chinese EasyFit. The clock will not be recognized. And a little about the most unpleasant - spontaneous button presses are guaranteed daily. In addition, the possibility of disassembling the watch raises doubts. You will have to change the battery someday, and the watch, apparently, is assembled on hot melt adhesive.

Pros
  • - Best screen in its class. For such a screen, you can forgive all the shortcomings! - Light weight, - Balanced functionality - Very long battery life, declared two weeks for them, as it turned out, is not the limit, - Ability to connect external sensors.
Cons
  • - Failed compass, - Spontaneously pressed buttons, - Uncomfortable and unaesthetic strap. - Limited number of watch faces, - Possible difficulties with self-disassembly.
