Review on πŸ’‘ Noctua NH-U14S TR4-SP3: Ultimate AMD sTRX4/TR4/SP3 CPU Cooling Solution (140mm, Brown) by Dang Esq

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Bought to replace Enermax Liqtech TR4 version 1

So I became the victim of an Enermax debacle, thanks to Gamer Nexus for providing the results of a months long investigation. I noticed an increase in idle temps over the last 5 months to the first week of October 2019 when I saw idle temps of 55C which made no sense to me. Went to RMA Liqtech and luckily get a free replacement but figured I need a backup as my job doesn't allow me to be out of the loop. That being said, I went with Noctua as AIOs don't have long lifespans (who knew, a year for Enermax). This product is great. My temperature fluctuates between 38-42 in idle, it reaches 48-55 under load. Only one fan but I have 2 fans in the front and 2 fans in the exhaust that push and pull air. Pleasantly surprised how little difference there is between idling and full load as I live in a warm climate. to get this thing in the case and it almost cleared the case. My RAM sticks are Patriots with high profile heatsinks so the fan is pushed against the case lid. The case has a slight curve to keep the fan in place, which doesn't bother me as it's not that noticeable. The price you pay when you need a reliable cooler. Investing in this cooler is highly recommended for all Threadripper owners, and if you don't have enough case fans, a second fan would probably be an ideal purchase so you can get more airflow through the cooler. Cooler.
