Seriously, why build a high definition music player with Toslink digital output only? Their own literature states that Toslink is not suitable for high-resolution music. However, they only include the Lo-Fi Toslink connector. Why is there no coaxial output? Any idea how many of these you could sell if they had a coax output? After using the player for a couple of weeks I can say that the audio circuitry in the DNP-800ne is GOOD but not top notch. But if there was a way to connect to a high performance DAC (like most stereophiles/audiophiles do) it wouldn't matter. We were able to use all the great features of the DNP-800NE with stunning sound. Instead, due to the lack of a necessary port (coaxial SPDIF) and the inclusion of a completely useless one (Toslink), this isn't a start since you're only using this device as a lo-fi player with external processing. And is it somehow a good financial plan for marketing? Who runs Denon now, the accountants?/facepalm
