When you open the box, there is a dizzying amount of random parts. There are actually only five different parts. There are flexible shelves, long metal posts, short metal posts, and two types of plastic corner connectors. The key to fast assembly is correct alignment of the corner joints. The flat hole always faces up. All long poles are used horizontally to frame real shelves. Short posts are any vertical spacers that add height to the shelf. I've added a short video if that helps. I originally thought I'd return this, but I'm glad I tried it because it's a really large amount of storage for a tight area and around $25. Assembled, it is strong enough for shoes, hats and accessories.
