Maintains the right temperature

Definitely keeps hot liquids hot and cold liquids cold. I give 4 stars because the lid is not that easy to clean. Liquid gets into the sliding lid and you cannot separate the sliding part to clean it. I have to soak it in hot soapy water, rinse it as best I can, and then soak it in cold clean water to get it completely clean. My husband only uses the lid when we are in the car and just leaves the lid at home.
