This sharpener has changed my kitchen a lot. I am anything but a knife expert and only own "Bed, Bath & Beyond" knives (Calphalon, Sabatier, Henckels). I have tried various passive sharpeners in the past and have always been disappointed. I've never been good with stone either. This sharpener took effect immediately after following the instructions and tips that came with it. I've put all my carving, utility and chef's knives through this sharpener in just a few minutes and suddenly I'm tired of buying more expensive knives to work efficiently and safely in the kitchen! I ended up spending $120 on a sharpener to save many hundreds of dollars on quality knives and possibly avoid injuries from working with dull knives. It's hard to disagree unless you're a chef or knife expert who appreciates quality cutlery more and has the skills to care for it. Highly recommended.
