I got this gate because I babysit for my 10 month old great granddaughter three days a week and she’s starting to get mobile. I needed a gate that would protect her from the stairs, but also one with a latched door that I could just leave in place. This one is perfect. It opens and closes easily but latches securely and is incredibly sturdy. It also looks pretty good and isn’t an eyesore in my kitchen. All in all - two thumbs up and five stars. It’s worth every penny.

Bought this for when I watch Rover dogs and need to keep my cat and the dog separate. It is located on the bottom of my stairs and works great (minus one dog jumping over, but he was a tall/athletic dog). Installation was not too difficult, just read the instructions and pay attention to the different width measurements if you have a baseboard.

Best Buy initially recommended a newer version of this product at checkout but upon delivery and after starting the installation, found out that it's for a slightly narrower entrance way and had to return itI found this model (older) to be less rigid than the updated one. Very easy to install. Arrived on time and box was not damaged. Gate looks nice and is easy to use. Secure fit with no drilling.

This gate has nothing to do with babies or little ones. It keeps to very large dogs out of our bedroom. We’d close the door and they would jump on it and open, put a big box in front and they would jump on the box and open the door. Now they see us through the gate, but don’t understand the openness of the gate slats. Problem solved!
