Review on 56208 Vehicle Side Trailer Harness Cherokee by Narendra Thapa

Reliable product but difficult to install

Installed today on our 2017 Cherokee Trailhawk Some of the issues I have encountered, could be related to trim level (Trailhock), but they were pretty significant. First, the trim removal instructions didn't go far enough. After removing the fairing mentioned, I still haven't had a chance to actually connect the wires to each taillight. On the driver's side I had to remove the two rear vertical panels and even then I still had to fish in a blind hole. I couldn't wire past the factory subwoofer on the passenger side. To take it out completely almost all of the plastic from the back would have had to be removed, so instead I removed enough to gain access to the two rearmost screws, which allowed me to move the sub just enough to clear the wiring squeaked. Here, too, mostly blind holes throughout. Routing the power cable to the battery also required removing and reinstalling a lot of plastic, as well as some pretty tricky firewall catching, but even that was less work than the plug-and-play portion of each step. Taillight. I have quite a bit of experience removing and replacing interior panels and wiring. If you don't do this, you can give this work to the farm. On the plus side, the price was fair and the device works as intended.

Pros

Cons
  • Safety
