I can't recommend you enough to avoid this product

If you create content of any kind, whether it's streaming to thousands of people a day or recording videos for your friends , I cannot recommend this product in any way or form. Issues: Razer does not have any proprietary recording software designed to work with this product. You must use another capture program such as OBS or XSplit. - Passthrough doesn't work when the device isn't powered, so you can't leave it on the line until your computer is on. - Razer sounds like setup would be a breeze, but if you're unfamiliar with capture software you're in for a bumpy road - it's not a beginner-friendly product at all, despite what manuals and marketing materials suggest. I spent an hour and a half trying to figure out why the audio wasn't being recorded. Instead of streaming audio through the device, Ripsaw creates a virtual channel on your PC, and you need to be sure it's recording *it* too. This is not described in the attached instructions. Confused about video/audio sources in OBS? It will probably take you much longer to understand this. After you set the audio source, you may find that the audio coming out is incredibly quiet. This is because the default virtual channel has half the volume in Windows 10. Therefore, you need to go to your audio capture sources and manually adjust the output there. This is not described in the attached instructions. I had to spend half an hour searching Reddit to find this troubleshooting tip. You have audio and video. Finally! That looks great! Until you record or stream anything longer than ten minutes. Audio and video are FAST asynchronous, and no matter what settings I've changed in OBS, no matter whether I'm recording to an external drive or an internal M.2 drive, no matter how much I've adjusted the video quality or audio settings. , the synchronization loss is permanent. Every now and then the video stutters, which is completely unacceptable for a live transmission. I've tested this on both a high-end desktop and a high-end laptop and it's happened every time. - Would you like to record your messages on the console? You'll need an additional microphone to connect directly to the device to record your own voice, and if you have a wireless headset that's useless now (on PS4 at least) as PS4 doesn't allow you to add audio to your headset and send via HDMI simultaneously . You need to run a cable from the headset to the device. Of course, this isn't exactly a Ripsaw problem, but the implementation requires more components than are intended for the device. Get ready for additional devices. I'm not used to leaving negative product reviews that make me sad because life is too short, but with the amount of people streaming and looking for an easy way to get started, I don't recommend going down this route. You will be constantly dissatisfied and upset. As someone with content creation experience, familiar with OBS, Twitch streaming, and computer savvy, I've fiddled with this thing for hours trying to even remotely get it working. If you are just starting out, choose a different product. I'm just waiting for the Elgato HD60S+ - I've had great success and no issues with the HD60S and this product is a good reminder of why Elgato became the market leader. Very disappointing. I expected more from Razer.
