I have bought 6 motion sensors and two receivers in the last two years. These devices are so archaic and difficult to set up and also very unreliable: 1. If you have a sensor and a receiver, you're in luck. If you have multiple sensors connected to a receiver, you will spend hours programming those devices. Forget YouTube videos that just appear. No, that is not so!. I eventually found that the only way to program each sensor connected to the receiver is to edit each sensor individually after completely removing the batteries from the other sensors. I had to replace the sensor six months ago, so I actually drove a mile with the sensor and receiver in my truck so the other three sensors wouldn't interfere with the programming.2. Speaking of programming, it's 2021, not 1984. Dealing with DIP switches and having to press a series of buttons one after another along the way would have Steve Jobs rolling in his grave and then throwing up. I made a big mistake with alkaline batteries. I made a big mistake with alkaline batteries. Did I say I made a big mistake? Oh yeah!. When it was too late, I found that alkaline batteries last about 2 months at most. More importantly, batteries leaked all over the bay and completely ruined two of my sensors. Unfortunately, I didn't even know that the batteries in the sensors were dead. Oh right. I have to press a series of buttons on the receiver to check the batteries in the sensors. Damn, I forgot I had to do this. Too bad I didn't put a reminder on my calendar.4. Give yourself plenty of time if you need to replace batteries. One would think that the battery compartment would be easily accessible for changing batteries. think again You need to remove four micro screws that can be lost quickly and easily. When I say micro, I mean almost microscopic. Replacing the batteries in each device is a good ten minute exercise.5. It is not possible to connect the sensor to a 12 volt power source. You owe batteries.6. Where is Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and mobile app? Just not here! I really want someone to invent a sensor/receiver combo that is intuitive and uses modern technology. It is amazing that apart from this incredibly expensive system there is nothing else on the market.
