I bought this for open barrel contacts specifically Futaba servo contacts and Molex C-Grid SL contacts. These Molex pins are good for connectors on boards like Arduino. If you're not targeting a specific port, it means a locator is missing and may not fit perfectly. Are they as good as the $345 SL crimping tool? Not at all, but they are suitable for hobby, service, research and development and are more versatile. I was unfamiliar with the term "Dupont" in plugs, so I looked it up. Dupont has developed "Dupont Connector Systems" based on a stamped open cylinder connection system. This later became Berg Electronics, Berg was split off from Dupont. It later became part of the FCI and then Amphenol acquired the FCI. At the same time, even the Berg brand was lost.
