I don't know what might confuse some others but this seat stand works fine. It is durable, collapsible and inexpensive. Good quality wood and fittings. This is not a high end seat post but it is what is shown in the photo and works great. A small or medium English saddle is more suitable than a medium or large western saddle. Our backs hang at the bottom of the tree, but since the center of gravity is in the front, this isn't a problem. A western saddle is often more centered.
