It smells like a candle Not in a good way

I like the product itself. It seems to be doing a great job of conditioning my beard. I have stopped using "regular" setting balms. I always use a "strong finishing balm" or "beard wax" in addition to any balm I apply to keep the frizzy, unruly hair in my beard. Well, my beard doesn't have enough hold, but I haven't found a better standard balm, and I've tried and still use: Honest Amish Beard Balm, Rocky Mountain Barber Company, Smooth Viking, Bossman Beard Jelly, and others. As such, I will not use a product like this to hold this unruly hair and have not deducted a single star for holding power. The reason for 3 stars is because of the smell. I can't describe it better than saying it smells like a candle. I know this isn't very specific as candles come in thousands of scents. It feels like I've just arrived at a "home interior" party. All I can think about while wearing it is "my beard smells like a candle". It is not necessarily female and not necessarily male. Just a candle. My wife doesn't mind and prefers honest Amish flavors. But I find it a bit repulsive. It didn't bother me at first, but I was starting to find it almost insulting to me. I will continue to use the can I bought (cigar and vanilla) but will no longer buy this flavor. I'm willing to try other GBS flavors. I didn't feel anything like vanilla or a cigar. simple.candle. Some people like the scent and think I'm crazy. And like I said, the product itself performed as expected. Personally I would recommend Rocky Mountain Barbershop (I use the unscented) or Honest Amish for their excellent conditioning and then a good finishing product like Climbers Brand Heavy Duty Balm or Honest Amish Beard Wax if you need control.
