This is a cheap device, relatively difficult to use. This is not unexpected given the price. You get what you pay for. But it's VERY important to know before you buy this slicer that the thinnest slice of bread you can make with it is just over 1/2 inch thick. The first cutting guide is set so far from the end of the slicer. This isn't for you if you like thinner bread. Another important factor with this cut is that you can only make 1 slice before having to dispose of it (take out bread, remove slice, replace bread with the next slice), which makes slicing something like a baguette very tiring.
