This latch worked correctly in my 2011 Ford Ranger. Both the hold function and the toggle function work. I tried another manufacturer on the left and while the latch worked, the switch didn't. Something to try if your door won't open is to pry a pry bar from the inside of the bottom of the door. It could just pop open and save the hassle of having to remove the door panel on a stuck closed door. If you find a door ajar alert and the dome light is on, you can unplug it, but then you may not know if the door isn't fully closed.
