Keeps coffee hot but don't expect it to stay hot all day. I find this to be enough to warm you up during a long weekend breakfast, but no more. The chrome encasement looks decent from a distance but isn't bonded very well to the decanter body so it will shift and make noise if you don't grab it by the handle and the reflection will be distorted by the metal. doesn't stay in the same shape. This doesn't affect the function of the carafe, but makes it look cheap up close. The lid has to be tight and I often have to press it down several times because as the contents cool, the carafe starts sucking in air and making whistling noises.
