Review on Bosch 0227901014 Ballast Resistor by Ricardo Ware

This is interesting. I ordered a resistor and a matching Bosch coil. The resistance seems to be good and got a good rating. The coil doesn't appear on my review order and I guess I know why. It is advertised as Bosch but is made in Brazil and is clearly of lower quality. Bosch would never have made it out of the German factory. The metal bracket has sharp edges and one end bolt is not threaded for the lock nut. It seems to be working, but only time will tell if it will hold up. The reason for ordering this combination is hotter sparks and longer point contact life due to the lower current flowing through the higher rated resistor. As said, time will tell if this is a genuine Bosch product (e.g. a resistor) that will last a long time or if it is fake. In any case, if I need to replace these items again, I won't be able to get them from Revain. Oh, the delivery was delayed by 2 weeks.
