Works well but the manual is easy to misread

I bought this case to use as an extension for my WD My Cloud. But before you can use it as such, you need to connect it to Windows or Mac for setup. If you're the kind of person who looks at instructions and assumes you know what you're doing (like me), you probably have a number of issues making it work the way you think it does. But if you slow down and actually read and follow the instructions, the device works just fine. First, if you use drives larger than 2TB or Red Tier, which creates a larger volume than you can carry. First, if you are using drives larger than 2TB or a RAID level that creates more than 2TB, you must format with GPT, otherwise Windows will not work properly with Realtor. Another important thing I found was that when choosing a RAID level, the device must be enabled. That means, of course, how do you get by with a drive box without an outer cover. But in any case, it doesn't seem dangerous. I connect the device to a Windows 7 desktop computer to format the volume and transfer the data to the drive I wanted on my cloud server. I used the USB 3.0 port and had no problems. Transmission speed seemed good. The green light on the front is not a power button. There is a power symbol printed above it, but I believe it was a label telling you it is a power indicator. The power button is a toggle switch on the back of the device. I connected it to my Wd MyCloud and had no problems. It seems to work well as an expansion cabinet. If you want to connect to My Cloud like I did, you need to format it to either NTFS or HFS+. WD MyCloud does not support exFAT on drives connected via USB. For a suitcase around $50, I'm quite happy. I installed 2 x 2TB Red Label WD drives and formatted them for RAID0 (striped).
