I bought it to replace the head on v6. Basically, the repeated intrusion into the long hair has caused them to be overstressed. Make sure to clean your brush after every other use, and take it apart and clean it every 3-6 months if you have long haired girls in the house. You'll be surprised at how much material gets into the motor case and wraps around the spinning gear. It's like washing your hair. When the brushes spin slower or get stuck, it's time to clean. Eventually the head would make a clicking sound and then turn on for a while. The knurled shaft that turns the brush broke off on the motor, and only when the cracked plastic flattened out did it start turning again. Hopefully later models will have a better form factor to avoid this problem. However, vacuum stills are still cool, so replacing them was easier than getting an upgraded model. I have a Roomba 875 to help with hardwood floors and now I only use it to clean up stains and big messes.
