Just got this as a replacement head for my V6. We have a family of two cats and three women with long hair, so our original became clogged due to loss of suction. I almost bought a new vacuum cleaner, but I decided to try it and IT WORKS! I've just spent the last 20 minutes vacuuming our first floor (laminate with 2 large rugs and my house looks so much better. My tank was covered in hair and dust - such an accomplishment! Please state clearly in the description that it is not designed for V6. The first one I got I thought it was wrong so I asked to return it. The second had the same problem and from the reviews it seems that it is not designed for V6. For some reason Dyson decided to put a groove on the back of the roller which couldn't be better designed to trap lint and dirt rather than let it through. The parachute is fine. There is a removable lid to clean this trap which I think proves it was intentional. If they really thought it was that important, I'd rather just install a built in dirt trap along the length of the pipe rather than stopping and taking it apart multiple times in one use. When I went to buy, I was hesitant because of the reviews. It was a little frustrating to order but if I can help people with my experience I will say it fits my Dyson V6 perfectly, the exact same attachment that came with my vacuum when I bought it new. Maybe they should drop DC59 from the name. I've been desperately trying to clean my old one, it broke completely except for the part of the rotor that can't be removed. Make sure to clean your brush after every other use, and take it apart and clean it every 3-6 months if you have long haired girls in the house.
