We bought this pencil sharpener in March 2014. It's March 2019 and I'm changing our model. To help you understand the mistreatment of this sharpener, let me give you some context: We are a family of 5 homeschooled students. My kids prefer to write with a pencil than a pen, so we do 98% of everything we write with pencils - that's a lot of pencil points! We also use colored pencils quite often for drawing, math, maps and history. This sharpener has survived everything we've thrown at it. Over the past few months we've noticed that pencils aren't as sharp and the sharpener sharpens one side of a pencil better than the other. I could probably limp with it for the rest of the school year if I wanted to. Instead I want to replace my current sharpener with the same model. I'm picky when it comes to school supplies: from pencils to erasers for caps, binders and paper, from scissors to colored pencils. I will only buy again if I know the item I am buying will be of good value. It passed the test in our family.
