As i have not had much spare time i havent gotten a lot done with these but i will say, from my original review, yes i would still recommend them-for hobbyists& beginners. I was very impressed with the varied color selection and the packaging. These pencils were neatly divided into 3 layers in a tin box. I love this tin box. The pencils will be safe inside and wouldn't get damaged. I haven't used my pencils yet, but they arrived quickly and came in nearly perfect condition each pencil was sharpened. I bought these as well as a couple of sketch pads for a 10 year old niece who has artistic talent and is very interested and involved in "Art," both at home and in school. I never saw the items, they were shipped to her house in time for Christmas but judging by what she told me on the phone, she was very happy with them and I was happy to help her with the tools she needs to advance her love of art. I recommend this product based on this experience.

I’ve never really been one to shade and color well, but I guess these pencils opened my creativity! They really are a good colored pencil. I use them for adult coloring. They are very blendable and have rich color. I tried them with a Prismacolor colorbless blending pencil and it didn't work well, perhaps because the Prismacolor blending pencil works the best on wax-based colored pencils only. I then used the Koh-I-Noor Polycolor blending pencil and it blends these zenacolor colored pencils better and I figure it is because the Koh-I-Noor brand's colored pencils are oil-based as well.

I definitely enjoyed this set right away! You get a great variety of different colors and shades for a great reasonable price. These pencils are very sturdy, they don’t break easily for me compared to other brands. All the colors, light to dark, are creamy and easily able to blend (which I loved). Just received my pencils! The tin box is so pretty. I am moving "up" from the Crayola brand to this set to do my anatomy and my physiology coloring books. The reason I am giving four stars is below.The pencils are nice, it is a good product for the price, but I feel some of the colors need a bit more pressure than others to get a vibrant color. Pretty good colored pencils. Harder than Prismacolor, but a bit softer then Crayola. They don’t break as often as Crayola does, and don’t need to be sharpened as often as the softer Prismacolors. The color choices are decent, though there are some shades I wish they had included. Some of the included shades are very, very similar to each other. It's my first set of color pencils I got for coloring books. I am very happy, they are soft, color is intense enough to use with other medium like markers (used with black sharpie in my photo), and the color selection is very decent. I was missing a light green color, and got two other greens, and skin colors are missing. But I just purchased a couple of Prismacolor pencils separately. Prismacolor is definitely softer, and is better for blending, but you cannot beat the price of this set!

These pencils are really good quality for the price. My only complaint is that there are too many yellows that are almost the same. The blues, reds and brown palettes are good but could use additional shades of grey and better skin tones. I went to Blick and augmented with their house brand which is very comparable. But for an amateur like me, they are fine. Getting some tips breaking when sharpening but could be my cheepo sharpener. I would buy again.

I like the way the pencils lay down the color; they are smooth and the colors are bright. What was really amazing was the price. I am just an old lady who likes to color in the adult coloring books. I have a set of hard core pencils but the colors are not as bright. Then when I started looking at soft-core pencils, the difference in prices was incredible. This set had good reviews so I tried it even though it was a lot cheaper. I am very glad I did!

The colors and quality look amazing . but I'm very glad I sat down immediately to fill in the color chart and go through all three trays. I didn't get three different trays of pencils the first time around! The bottom tray in my first box was a duplicate of the second - all the red pencils, half the green pencils, and most of the brown pencils were missing.

Colors are beautiful and vibrant. The quality is surprisingly good, very buttery and smooth. The only issue I saw with the pack was there are two Champagne Yellows and missing Canary Yellow. I still gave it 5 stars because the two champagne yellows are distinct colors so clearly it was a misprint.

These are good basic colored pencils set for adult coloring. The naming/numbering system is odd, but that is ok. They are not creamy or soft. They will be good for sturdy paper and a light hand hand for shading.
