So far so good for humidifiers

I live in CO where humidity is low, especially in winter. I have been using humidifiers for 25 years, starting with large consoles and then smaller whole house units that require filters. Since our water has a high mineral content, I buy distilled water for this as there are no filters. I was concerned that buying water would exceed the cost of replacement filters, so I decided to try half tap water/half distilled water. I had no problems with mineral residues. I'm amazed why this device uses less water and still hydrates just as well as my previous devices. It's a different exhaust system and I assume absorption by the filters in earlier units resulted in some water loss. The visible cloud of fog takes a bit of getting used to, but I like that I can move it to a different spot if it bothers me. Humidifiers should ideally be placed near the furnace air intakes. From a design perspective, I like that it's larger than most units and blows vapor higher into the air since cold air is heavier than warm air. I have asked many questions about how the humidifier works. UV lamp lamp as it can be turned on and off with the remote control. It turns out that its function is to inhibit the growth of bacteria, not lighting. You have to take their word for it. I wonder what an exchange would cost. The device has some great volume control features. I keep mine with a 2 out of 4 output and with breaks every 1 or 3 minutes. It's very easy to clean. In fact, after cleaning yesterday, I decided to change my rating from 4 to 5 stars. I remembered how dirty my previous devices were by picking up everything that was in the air or on the ground (dog hair) and the accumulation of minerals. This block contains a reservoir of water so it stays clean yet free of mineral residue. I noticed that someone posted a video showing how to fill the tank by pouring water in front of the block. Do not do that. I have found that if you pour it in the front too quickly it will overflow onto the front panel. Pour it slowly into the trunk. I would also like to thank the customer service team for the prompt responses to my many questions. My only complaint is that I really wanted something more eye-catching than my previous devices, something aesthetically pleasing that would fit into my decor. But the fancy devices I found didn't get good reviews and were expensive. This device looks like a small water cooler with a PVC pipe on top. So in the end I decided to go for functionality over design. Different neutral colors can be a good option.
