does not cool the handles and does not slip
if left in a cast iron pan they are so hot as if they were covered with nothing. The only way to use them and be effective is to keep them off the pan and only put them on when you're ready to move the pan. does not prevent burns. they also slip off very easily. I almost dropped my hot pan while picking it up because the handle rotates instead of staying in place
