All the pads are perfect for my 5 year old daughters: not too tight, not too loose. For now the pad stays in place when you move, the velcro is very strong and the plastic is strong and protective. Not to mention that the photos of Olof, Ana and Elsa are a huge motivation for my daughters to get their gear on before skating. However, the hand pads are not very protective; they are more stylish than protective. They have a thin extra layer of fabric on the palm. So it will likely prevent minor scratches and bruises, but it won't eliminate the pain or help in the event of a fall. But I love it and so do my girls. It serves its purpose. Thumbs up!
