I like that it can be used for both short-term or long term absences so you don't have to worry about having your system set up correctly before someone goes away (or returns). It does take some time to get everything setup properly but once complete there are very few issues with this software - especially compared against other systems we've considered in more recent years. There doesn't seem to be any major benefits of using activabs over our current system except perhaps ease of use/accessibility etc. We currently don't do anything different with respect to managing sick leave as compared to how we manage holidays apart from not being able to send out letters when people go off due to illness which was something they could easily do themselves prior to activating their account.
