I installed all six on the tree in about an hour or less. For the top two I had to use a ladder. Ratchet straps are standard as if you buy them to secure cargo on a truck. My only concern is that they are not particularly durable. I mean they withstood my determined pull and they are working to keep the holds stable but I don't think they will hold up very well in the weather. I would recommend putting them in for the winter. If the straps are too worn I assume they can be replaced at the hardware store. The kids really like them, but I'll probably have to build a tree house so they can use them to get somewhere and not just climb up and down the tree trunk. Note: I would suggest paying attention to the roughness or smoothness of the tree bark. I wouldn't put them on a tulip poplar - I think they might slide down a bit. I put them on red oak. I didn't use the screws that came with it for wall mounting.
