Review on Babycakes Mini Cake Pop Maker by Adam Clemons

Perfect cake pops! Good for kitchen and dining room

First, this mini cake maker is a lifesaver! I used to make cake pops the traditional way using crumbled cake and icing and then rolling them into balls but the whole process took too long so I decided to invest in this machine. With this machine I don't have to worry about the consistency of the cake pop and frosting (if it's too wet the cake pop will break through the lollipop stick or sometimes it can break due to the weight when you coat the chocolate - very frustrating!). When I first used this machine I used cake mix and it turned out to be a disaster. The cakes stuck to the nonstick plate despite wiping/spraying cooking spray on them each time. Second time I used a store bought box of cakes they were perfect! The plates didn't need greasing as they popped out instantly and in perfect shape! When I poured too much cake batter into the machine, it overflowed leaving extra pieces of cake, but these are easy to remove. Some of the balloons had rings of Saturn and I left them that way without cropping the edges because they weren't too visible and it gave the cake pop a natural candy look. I ended up topping my cake balls with Wilton Candy Melts, available at Walmart, Michaels, or Joanns. Pros: Easy to use Easy to clean Makes the cake super fast! (3-5 minutes per game) Cons: The machine gets very hot so be sure to touch the handle to open and close the access. Overall I have had good experiences with this machine. I wasn't too happy with this machine at first because my cereal (with the brownie mix) didn't work out. But practice makes perfect, right? They came out perfect the second time (as shown in my photos when I used the cake mix) so don't be discouraged if you fail the first few times because you have to get comfortable first. It's a good idea to test drive the machine to make sure it's working properly and test the cake balls before deciding to make cake pops for each occasion.
