Ideal for beginners and experienced artists. I've worked a lot but never tried charcoal pencils. I mixed the colors with a small sponge and it worked well. The colors are subtle and can also be bold depending on how hard you press the tip of the pencil onto the paper. Using them was a fun experience for me. The choice of colors is great, but I wish it came with a blue pen.
