I love bamboo needles - yarn tends to stick to bamboo with a light touch, so if you're new to knitting it's great because you lose fewer stitches. I've been knitting for a few years and I still dislike using metal needles because the yarn slips off too easily. I have Clover Round and Double Point in various sizes and have always been very pleased with the quality of each pair. FYI for beginner knitters, several reviewers have complained that the length includes the needles and not just the cord - this is the industry standard. A 16 inch circular needle is 16 inches from the TIP of one needle to the tip of the other.
