Use caution based on your dog.!

We recently got a new dog, she is a young 8 lb female chihuahua. She is very energetic and pulls when she goes on a walk so quickly we realized that a harness would be a better way to walk her versus a collar so it wouldn't yank her neck. After reading all the great reviews, I decided to go with this harness. The design is nice, it really seems well made and is very easy to put on, even for a dog who is usually jumping around a bit in excitement as we are getting ready for a walk. We have been using it for a few days now and were initially very pleased with it, however last night on our walk she was pulling. in her tugging she backed up and pulled and slipped RIGHT OUT of this harness. I couldn't believe it.! For a moment she seemed stunned too. She started to run, I had to chase and practically tackle her to stop her from running away. All while I'm dragging our other pup behind me, it was awful! So scary.Fortunately I was able to get her home safely but I am returning this harness. Maybe if your dog doesn't pull this could be a good harness (our other dog doesn't pull but he also walks just fine on a collar which is why we don't need to harness him). But if you have a dog that is a puller I would really be cautious, this design seems comfortable and as I mentioned is easy to put on but also just way too easy to get out of. Unfortunately I cannot recommend this product.
