Lately I've been getting more serious about maintaining a freshwater tank and part of that is gradually adding live plants instead of artificial ones. They say it's better for the aquarium. However, I quickly found that plants tend to have positive buoyancy and if left carefree they will float around the aquarium and get in the way. Hence the weights, which seem like a necessary evil. They do what they say. Flexible metal strips that you wrap around the base of the plant before gluing anywhere in the aquarium. Does exactly as advertised. One caveat is that aquarium weights usually appear to be made of lead. This is no exception. A little fiddling with them probably won't hurt you, and as far as I can tell my fish don't seem to care either. However, if you have small children, you will probably want to keep them out of reach. They are small and can be swallowed easily.
