Review on πŸ”Œ Custom 4-Pin Trailer Wiring Harness for Chevrolet Impala - CURT 56188 Vehicle-Side by Ryan Schweigert

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Takes a bit of effort, but works great! Buy a wire saw.

I installed this on a 2014 Impala. For installation it is necessary to remove part of the trunk lining, for example the floor panel and the plastic lining in the direction of the bumper. You will then need to partially remove the side panels to gain access to the rear of the taillights. Not so hot what's up. On the driver side, you need to install a black box/module. You can thread the trailer plug through the large 2 inch diameter grommet and you will see that a different wiring harness is being used. Just take a razor and make a slit from the center on this sleeve. power cable to the battery. This will be a 10A circuit. I ran it from a small panel just above the battery (you see 60-120A fuses/fuses). Trailer lock included. Then I routed the cable under the car. Take your time and be careful. . Do not let it get near the exhaust pipe, hang down, dangle, or move around the rear suspension parts. The included 12 gauge cable was long enough (I mean up to an inch) to connect to the black box/module cable. All in all a great product from curt.
