So far, so good. in travel accessory

I haven't had a chance to use this to move logs around my fire pit, but will update this review with more information after giving it some good campfire uses. My first impressions positive. It's not the heaviest or strongest fireplace tool I've seen, but it's made better than I expected for the price I paid. The main pole is a hollow tube to which all other metal parts are attached by welding or bolts. The rubber grip can be easily removed from the top. I'll probably take it off, spray some 3M glue on it and put it back on so it will hold a little better and not accidentally slip off during use. You can see in the photos it is 3 feet long from the tip of the rubber grip to the end of the fork. The claw forks open up and look like they're extended enough to grip firewood up to 7.5 inches in diameter. They had a lot of stickers on them. Two barcode stickers and one 10" long wraparound sticker. around the center of the main pole. I usually hate removing stickers but considering this is going to be used in a fire pit I just let it burn/melt while I use it and don't worry about getting rid of sticker residue. Comes with 3 small pieces of rubber attached to the bottom of each pin. The prongs aren't sharp, but I think they're sharp enough to pierce the packaging, so they were probably included. They were easy to remove (although a good hot fire would have melted them too). However, it is not easy to ensure that they can be reattached for storage after each use. Not that they're needed, because like I said, the ends of these aren't pointy and sharp like marshmallows or hot dog sticks. Update: I can understand why some people have modified this with a spring to close automatically, but I don't get it. don't think it's necessary. It's definitely a two-handed instrument. I'm not comfortable lifting anything other than the smallest logs unless I use both hands. It's easier to turn and move trunks when you have a firm grip on them. This is a great tool. I take back my words about stickers. The small UPC stickers burned easily and fully as they were closer to the fire. The large sticker wrapped around the center doesn't go anywhere unless I start scratching it off. I usually deduct 2 stars if the stickers are hard to remove. This is one of my favorite grains. But since this is only used for an outdoor fire and I don't care what it looks like, I slide the sticker over my bill.
