[Disclaimer] I'm not a regular user, I decided not to use Side Inferred Lights, not because I think they're bad, but because I had a unique use for my project. [The Review ] I've bought several lenses for my Raspberry Pi as I've been working on home security cameras for a number of years now. I have to say this is my favourite. The angle is nice and wide, giving better exposure and a better view, but the image isn't wide enough to turn into the fisheye image I like. [My app] I installed mine in a camera layout, I don't have enough space in this chassis to place a supposed light in which I didn't make much of a difference. You know I mistakenly called it ultraviolet in the video, my bad) lights. I've used this exact design a few times with other lenses and they work well. They give off a lot of light, but have their disadvantages. The lights are meant to get very hot, so keep this in mind if you use glue on them OR plan on keeping them near combustible materials in hot, dry climates. They have a red low light when in use (the sensor almost always lets them work unless the room is very bright). So if you want to look stealthy I would recommend the outdoor lighting I used. . The final disadvantage of these lamps is that they use very small bolts/nuts and need to be tightened carefully and evenly to get the best results. If you don't you may have trouble maintaining a good connection, but if they are tightened well and evenly they will stay there and will NOT wiggle. If you use MotionEye OS like me, you can get better frame rates with Raspberry Pi. Zero W after adjusting some parameters, so the video does not optimally represent the motion detection of the lens.
