Color coding system (heavy duty)
The color coding system makes it quick and easy to determine when the brake pads need changing. If your brake pads fall in the 2mm (red) or 3mm (red) range, replace them immediately like I did. If the brake pads are below the 4mm (Yellow), 5mm (Yellow), or 6mm (Yellow) mark, they should be replaced as soon as possible. If they are within 8mm (green), 10mm (green), or 12mm (green), they are obviously in good condition. They're great for people like me who do their own maintenance. Also, it would be great if mechanics could show their customers if they are in the "red" or "yellow" zone.
