Having used many other DVR brands that did not provide a clear picture, this product is by far the best. We are blown away by the quality of the video and yes, the license plates are clearly visible on the recording. Other brands we've used before would be blurry and unreadable, but this is by far the best we've used. It records front and back simultaneously, which is a bonus, and the video cable for the rear camera is more than long enough.
