Review on 🌞 ACOPOWER Midas 40A MPPT Solar Charge Controller: Efficient PV Negative Ground Controller for 12/24V Solar Panels & Battery Charging (2020) by Carlos Krueger

It works great as an MPPT for SLA, Gel or Flood chargers, but Lithium requires a cable!

I planned and plugged it in to charge my LiFePO4 battery but once it was on I realized I couldn't live without using the USB->RJ45 adapter and its software could! The main modes (SLA, Flooded, Gel and Custom) can be selected via the charger UI, but.1) No LiFePO4, Li or anything other than the basic 4 UI! 2) Custom settings cannot be configured via UI, need a cable with your customization software! Their UI has few customizable options, making the cable and software essential if you want to set them up to do more than a basic SLA, flooded, or timed gel. Because of this, I had to swap it out for another charger that charged my SLA. I don't have their cable and my own cable didn't work with their software but I'll try another cheap cable to see if it works. Unfortunately, they made their user interface so simple and didn't include a cable. use their software. That's the main reason I removed the stars. Also, their manual says there is an Android app, but I didn't find anything suitable when I searched for ACO-Power. Their manual doesn't list the app's name, so who knows. Finding the program on their website wasn't that hard, but it wasn't as easy as it should be either; They're stingy with directions when it comes to finding and using the app. On the plus side, they offer a small base temperature sensor and the device looks clean once installed. All in all, if you have a cable handy, you can try this controller. You should note that this is the negative ground charge controller. This is probably my only negative grounded device out of my many kits.
