As soon as we turned on the lights over our kitchen island, the glare became overwhelming. Right before your eyes and not much on the surface. This would apply to any of these bare bulbs. It's fine if you dim the lights to set a mood, but the light on the surface is uneven even at full power and is obscured by the band under the bulbs. You can try replacing the clear glass cylinder with frosted glass for an additional $50. by Home DepotObviously, the lamp was designed for beauty, not looks. So I gave it 3 stars as a decor statement.
