Although I've been building/maintaining my own systems since I set up my Tandy Color computer in 1982, I'm aware that Apple frowns on people modifying their own systems, even if it's hard drives or memory handles an upgrade (damn, some apples have their memory *soldered* to the motherboard, making the upgrade impossible). I "inherited" a MacBook Air in mid-2011 from a friend I lost to cancer, and as I have four other production boxes on my home network for development and proof of concept, I intend to use this laptop for my music production hobby/MIDI , but I needed more capacity than the original 128GB SSD. Searching YouTube for a few keywords, I came across a great OWC tutorial video on how to upgrade an SSD in the same MacBook model I inherited. Everything went smoothly and took no more than 15 minutes. Thank you, OVC!
