Some people expect hard plastic. I knew it wasn't a plastic case just by looking at the picture. I didn't even look that closely to identify it because if I did, I'd find that the outside isn't the textured nylon I was hoping for. I'm not taking off a star because I'm not very observant. The material will be more prone to fingerprints and scratches, but that's due to my work environment and travel. This is a case well made. Haircut and so far everything looks great. I'll update if anything changes, but I think if you're complaining about this case it means you have a weird duck or just didn't think enough about it before buying. It fits my drive well with a little more room without making it wobble too much. . The hard shell withstands falls well and doesn't break like plastic. Have enough space in your bag for cables, CD/drivers and so on. Not what I was hoping for, but a good buy.
