This stand is of very poor quality, the bottom shelf broke when I carefully turned the hex during assembly. The wood is very cheap, thin and very soft. The finish is almost wet (fresh finish) and smells like it was ever used to finish wood. My Allen key (included) was missing and there really should be two more brackets to assemble the top and bottom pieces. Wooden dowels don't fit tightly in the holes because they're overdrilled. So the slightest touch separates the two parts. It ends up being a cheap, poorly made shelf. I would return it but I know it will fall apart if taken apart and repackaged. So now I'm stuck on this junk product that literally made my house smell like wood siding fumes. I will contact Amazon customer service regarding my experience and dissatisfaction with this product. Update: Revain sent me a replacement free of charge unless I returned the first one. And I have to give them credit for that. But the replacement was just as bad, with missing latches and the same smelly wood trim. Basically, it took two products to assemble a decent shelf. This time before assembly I took a reamer and a set of drill bits and widened the holes in the shelves so they wouldn't crack during assembly. I also used wood glue and three brass set screws to hold the top and bottom together. If I still had the box for the first one, it would be on my way back to Revain, but after a $7 trip to the hardware store for glue and decorative brass screws, it's almost a shelf. I will no longer buy home furniture from Amazon after this experience.
