Can provide more (or less) clamping force. It has a large clamping capacity (the thickness of the workpiece it can clamp). The chuck has some traction to prevent the workpiece from slipping. I liked it so much that I bought a second one. I would give it 5 stars but -1 star due to quality control issues with the recoil spring. I bought 3 of these and 2/3 had a weak return spring. If you clamp an object and then lift the "release lever", the return spring will not be strong enough to fully release the clamp in certain clamped positions. This does not affect the clamping ability, but it is annoying and should be remedied by the manufacturer.
