I got them to work with my monitor stand and my laptop. I can say that it was a completely painless installation. Download the latest drivers from their website according to the instructions in the box. Then plug the adapter into a USB port and off you go. The included software makes it easy to move the window from one screen to another. It's good, but I don't use this feature that much these days. Worked fine with Windows 7. I went from 2 screens with a Dell laptop + docking station to 4. I should note that although it says you can use the attached USB 3.0 port for another device, I thought I would would be smart and connect the second monitor through the first device in the daisy chain. It didn't work very well. There is some delay. Adapters work best when they are the first item in the chain.
