Works BUT sharp frame drops at full 1920x1080 resolution

I hooked it up via USB 3.0 of course and although it will power up and drive my AOC 2752 via HDMI it does so with a lot of stuttering normal Windows Animation. I mean just opening a browser window causes it to twitch. Most of the time, when you drag something, you don't see where the mouse is. Yes, I followed the instructions and downloaded the latest drivers first BEFORE plugging in the little box. It might work well at resolutions less than about 1600 pixels, but that's not my use case. Here,

Worked as advertised

I got them to work with my monitor stand and my laptop. I can say that it was a completely painless installation. Download the latest drivers from their website according to the instructions in the box. Then plug the adapter into a USB port and off you go. The included software makes it easy to move the window from one screen to another. It's good, but I don't use this feature that much these days. Worked fine with Windows 7. I went from 2 screens with a Dell laptop + docking station to 4. I…

Easy fix for more monitors

This is a pretty simple little device that works great! You probably won't be playing Farcry on this thing, but if you need an extra display for your laptop or desktop for everyday use, this is a good solution. I use it with my work laptop to view more code (programming) at a time. I think it uses your CPU a lot. When I watch a YouTube video on it, I notice more CPU usage than when I watch it on another screen. The better your CPU, the better results you are likely to see with this device. I've

Love Love Love it good for notebook accessories

God I can't believe I didn't see that. I have a 12.5" laptop with a crappy graphics card and everyone was telling me to throw it out because I couldn't use it on my 23" monitor and get a good resolution for it. I bought the laptop from Lenovo just a year ago and it has great specs in everything else including the i7 core. I bought a laptop just as a backup in case I need to leave the office. in a hurry I would have my business with me. But now I have decided to use my laptop fully in the office

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Compatibility

This is a hub with HDMI/VGA, GBe and USB passthrough. Since they are all connected via a USB3 cable, I was expecting choppy video and reduced throughput over Ethernet and USB. I was wrong. I installed the StarTech drivers on a 2017 MacBook Air, which took about a minute and required a reboot. I connected the hub to my laptop and connected my Panasonic TV to an HDMI port and an Ethernet cable connected to the network. I immediately played a high-definition movie from the network onto the TV and…
