Review on HG712 HitchGrip Ball Mount Carrier - Red (Standard) with Orange Accent by Tyler Smith

Not essential but very comfortable

Reading all these reviews I can tell people just have the wrong idea as to why you should spend money on it. It's not about lubrication and it's not about sheer power. With this device you can carry and mount the towbar with one hand. You don't have to touch the ball of grease, but the grease will get on the tool. Just have a rag handy to wipe it off. The tool itself weighs next to nothing, so it doesn't add any extra weight when stored in the luggage compartment. I'm perfectly capable of carrying a hitch even with a bad back, I just think it costs over $20 to do it quickly and with one hand. In terms of cost, this isn't cheap molded plastic; It is a very strong, reinforced nylon composite with tungsten carbide plates attached to increase strength. The ball is the center of balance of the clutch. You cannot carry the WD with one hand after oiling the ball because the ball is too slippery and if you try to grab it anywhere else it will move and not hang at the right angle to insert it into the ball Recipient. To insert it into the receiver you need two hands on either side of the ball joint where it is not lubricated. That. If you have trouble not using both hands fully, this is definitely for you.
