Review on Pirelli Ice Zero 195/60 R15 88T winter by Wiktor Getka ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Not a bad purchase, worth the money.

Traction on ice, in snow, on ice covered with snow and on dry/wet/mush pavement is beyond expectations and praise. The braking performance on ice and packed snow is very high. On ice covered with snow, it is noticeably worse. The breakdown into side slip on ice, snow, ice covered with snow, in porridge occurs much later than on other rubber that I have exploited. The side slip is pretty linear, i. E. getting the car back into non-slip mode is quite easy, there is a springy feeling that returns the car to its place. On clean dry/wet pavement, it behaves very close to summer (except for the colossal noise) - it slips minimally when starting, practically does not break into side slippage, and provides very effective braking. After installation it made a lot of noise. Noise passed after 1000 km on asphalt. At the time of writing, the rubber has passed about 8,000, of which about 2 t. K.m. on the ice and snow of the 2022 winter. Noticed the loss of only one spike. I add after three years of operation (mileage on this rubber is about 40,000). For 3 years, the wheels have lost 25-50% of the studs. I decided to finish the ship, but it doesn’t work out yet, because. due to the non-standard nature of the native stud, tire repairmen cannot install repair studs into existing holes, despite the fact that the tread height allows this to be done with a margin. Velcro holds pretty well. To be honest, I didn’t even think that I had lost so many spikes, because. handling has not noticeably deteriorated (tire workers drew my attention to the spikes).

Pros
  • The best grip on ice, snow, in porridge, on asphalt. Reliability of installation of spikes. Price. Good grip with partial loss of studs.
Cons
  • Non-repairable spike. Noise. The braking performance on ice covered with snow does not match other performance of this rubber.
